A doctor from AIIMS said the minister had regained consciousness within time and her post-surgery recovery was successful adding to this he said: “First, the organ was retrieved from the donor. It took about 90 minutes. After that, the kidney was transplanted into the recipient in nearly the same time. Kidney perfusion took some more time,”
Swaraj will be monitored over next week by the multidisciplinary team of doctors who will monitor her proper functioning of her heart, lung, kidney and also dosage of medication to control diabetes an official from AIIMS said. The reason for her kidney failure is diabetes because she has been suffering from diabetes for several years and she was on dialysis.
