Start sports Premier Badminton League (PBL) 2017 is going to start in 1st January and end on 14th January 2017. The first match will take place between Hyderabad Hunters and Chennai Smashers in Hyderabad. Delhi Acers is the defending champions from the last season after winning against Mumbai Rockets in 2016. The Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marin will face the silver medallist PV Sindhu in the opening match in Hyderabad.
The PBL 2017 will include top shuttlers such as Rio silver medallists P.V Sindhu, Olympic champion Carolina Marin, India’s badminton star Sania Nehwal, Olympic bronze winner Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and much more. The auction for the Premier Badminton League (PBL) took placed on 9th November 2016. The PBL kicks off in Hyderabad on the first day of the new year and other legs of the tournament will host by Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chennai.

Total six teams are going to compete in this PBL 2017. Those teams names are Awadhe Warriors, Bengaluru Topgun, Chennai Smashers, Delhi Acers, Hyderabad Hunters and Mumbai Rockets. It titled Indian Badminton League first but it was renamed to Premier Badminton League in the 2nd season. Hyderabad Hotshots was the winner in the first season of IBL.
