Padmavati, the very talked about movie being directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali, recently had another unfortunate accident on its sets. The movies’ cast includes the famous actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the lead. The worker who died was a painter named, Mukesh Dakia. The incident took place in the middle of the day when the painter was doing his job, painting a tomb on the sets of the film in the Film City.

The police report said that the person fell from a height of 5 feet on his back. During the collision he sustained severe head injuries leading to his death. He was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital from the set at the time of the injury at KokilaBen Hospital.

The accident was a very unfortunate event and the worker was taken to a hospital at the very instance. The question remains that whether the accident was a result of negligence on part of the company or not.

According to DCP, (Zone 12) Kiran Kumar Chavan, the accident report has been filed by the police. The nature of the report is Accidental Death Report (ADR).

The investigation is taking place by the concerned authorities and it has been stated explicitly that once the investigation is complete, the question as to how he fell from that height would be answered and then if any misconduct or safety negligence is found on the part of the concerned authorities’ then strict measures would be taken against the authorities.

The CEO of Bhansali Productions, Shobha Sant has said that the accident was not predicted or expected. She also stated that efforts are being made by the company to help the authorities to complete their investigation.

She said that,” What took place was extremely unfortunate and completely unforeseen. We are making every effort to help the authorities. Our support and prayers are with deceased’s family in this time of grief”.

Also the Art Directors of the film, Amit Ray and Subrata Chakraborty, defended their sets saying that all the safety measures were being taken. They said that,” Padmavati’s sets are completely equipped with the best security measures. Despite that, no one could foresee such a rare and unfortunate occurrence”.

The movie lead Deepika Padukone also tweeted on the social media site that she was shocked to hear the news and gives her condolence for the death. She wrote that,” Shocked and saddened by the news…may his soul rest in peace and my most sincere condolences to his family”.

Apart from the statements of the crew and cast of the members of Padmavati, there are rumours that the safety rules were neglected on site leading to this accident.

It is unfortunate how only Sanjay Leela Bansali movies are accident prone areas. The movie Ram Leela was also suffered by various accidents, one of which led to serious injuries to a worker. The movie will be released on 17th November 2017.
