India proved their dominance yet again by talking 2-0 lead after winning 3rd test match in Mohali. Mohali remains the winning venue as India won by eight wickets emphatically to take one step closer to win the series. Ravindra Jadeja announced man-of-the-match for all round performance with splendid batting in the lower order and also for dismissing Joe Root in time.

India vs England 3rd Test Match: Review (In-Depth)

England won the toss and decided to bat first, and it was a correct decision as it was a dry pitch and batting friendly. But they failed to take advantage when they lost four wickets in the first session even though India dropped two catches.

Alistair Cook was the man who got a second chance until he wasted it by playing a bad shot in the first ball of Ravichandran Ashwin. Joe Root didn’t pick the ball and got LBW to Jayant Yadav. England did fight in the second session with Jonny Bairstow who built the first partnership with Ben Stokes and then Jos Buttler. But it was all over after the wicket of Buttler. India didn’t fail to capitalise to get back into the game after bowling out whole England team in the second session.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli scored their half centuries. But England made a quick work and took the situation under control in the third session of the day. But the partnership of Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Jadav turned the wheel towards the home team once again.

Ravindra Jadeja took advantage of the poor bowling from England to score runs quickly while Jayant Yadav played a mature innings and made his maiden half-century in the Test match cricket.
India bowled out for 417 with 134 in the first innings against the score of England’s 283 in the first innings. Indian spinners dominated the English batsmen under pressure and took four wickets at the end of the day. The fourth day wasn’t good for the visiting team as they lost  Gareth Batty immediately.
Jos Buttler and Joe Root were hanging well until Jos dismissed for playing a bad shot. Haseeb Hammed came out next to the pitch. He seemed elegant out there with solid technique to play in this condition along with Joe Root on the other end.
This pair helped England to take 134 lead, and they did it without much trouble. India needed the wicket Joe Root badly, and they got it when Ajinkya Rahane caught a stunning catch in the sleep of Jadeja’s bowl.

Jadeja dismissed the most important wicket of Joe Root. But it wasn’t over yet. Youngster Haseeb Hammed didn’t give up and reached his second fifty in this five-match Test series against India VS. England. He came down with the order due to his severe finger injury. He helped his team to get 100 runs lead.
But it didn’t last long when Anderson got run out by Jadeja. India came down to chase 103 runs. It didn’t go very well as Murali Vijay caught in the slip without opening his account from Ben Stokes delivery. India didn’t need to worry furthermore. Because Parthiv Patel played a knock of 67* to make sure India win this test match. Cheteshwar Pujara helped on the other end as well to win by eight wickets comfortably.

India won the third Test match by eight wickets in Mohali. It’s one of the biggest win for India in the test match cricket. India played exceptionally well with both bat and bowl to grab the 2-0 lead in the series.

Parthiv Patel has shown a dominating batting  display by scoring a half-century in the second innings. He stayed not out on 67*. Ravindra Jadeja has been decided the man-of-the-match for his all-round performance. He scored valuable 90 runs in the first innings and eliminated the threat of Joe Root in the second innings to help India won the third test in Mohali.
