In 2017 After playing the majority of their Cricket at home and having mostly won by there side. There is a tough task ahead of Indian team as they are scheduled to tour South Africa and Australia in 2018. Which had been always and still remains the tough task for the Indian team to conquer?

Let’s take a look at Indian cricket team’s schedule of 2018.

1) India’s tour of South Africa :

Indian cricket team’s year starts with a mega clash against one of the cricketing powerhouses South Africa. India’s tour of South Africa starts on January 5, at the Newlands in Capetown.

The series will start from January 5 and will end on 24th February. The series will have 3 test matches, 6 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. The Indian team will be tested on foreign lands in this series.

2) Nidahas trophy: Tri Series (Sri Lanka, India,  Bangladesh)

The second tour of India will be against the neighbouring nations. The series will be played on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s 70th Independence anniversary, India will face the host Sri Lanka and neighbouring nation Bangladesh in a T20 tri-Series.

The tournament will be starting from March 8 and all the teams will play with each other twice, while the two teams who remain at the top two will play in the final on March 20.

All the 7 matches will be played at R Premadasa Stadium.

3) IPL

2018 will see the 11th season of IPL. The auction will take place on January 27 and 28. This auction will be the most interesting one, it will have almost all the players coming into the auction pool.

This season will witness the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. It is expected that this edition will have a total of 60 matches.

The season’s date is yet to be announced but it is expected that it will start on April 4 and will end on 31st May.

4) India tour of England

After IPL Indian players will get a brief break. After it India is scheduled to India tour of England 2018. The series will be starting on July 3. The series consists of 3 T20’s, followed by 3 ODIs and 5 test matches. The series will end on September 11.

Before the start of the T20 series against England, India is expected to play the couple of ODIs against the Irish team in Ireland.

5) Asia Cup :

Shortly after India’s tour of England, Virat Kohli and team will take part in the six-team competition at their home grounds, Asia cup will be started from September 15. The tournament will run for 2 weeks. The final will be played on September 30. Apart from India the other teams in the tournament are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The sixth team will be the winner of Asia cup qualifier.

6) West Indies’ tour of India:

Windies will visit the India for 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and a T20I match.

The series is expected to take place in October but their is confirmation regarding this.

7) India’s tour of Australia:

India will be visiting the World Champions at their home for a four match Test series. The series still has a lot of time so the Cricket Australia hasn’t yet published the schedule.
