Astra Honda Motor’s Light Weight Super Sports Concept (2015) based 250 cc twin-cylinder sport bike – Honda CBR250RR has introduced two new colour variants. The CBR series which started its production in November, 2017 is known for having the sharpest curves for easy passage of wind over it. The design is such that it gives the rider a sense of speed. Based on the steel truss frame and aluminium gul type swingarm, it has done all the right improvements but still maintains the original CBR-series look from the front. Single sided exhaust also looks compatible with the great design and style. It is the smallest Honda motorcycle to have a CBR RR tag in it. During 1990s, this name was used for four-cylinder sports bikes. In competition it has Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha YZF-R3 in the market.

Honda CBR250RR won the Championship in its first debut, in the year 2017 in Asia Road Racing Championship. Its performance figures shows that it can deliver much more than what is expected from a quarter litre motorcycle segment around the world. It is acclaimed to have a motor which can easily handle urban riding as well as on the circuit. It has a Throttle-by-Wire (TbW) in its engine and makes 3-way engine mode setting which helps the rider to tap into the linear power output at his will.

It also has USD suspension setup at the front and pro-link suspension having a five step preload at the rear, as was showcased earlier in the concept. CBR RR is having a dual ABS option along with ABS light.

User reviews

  • The original red-silver color scheme is good. The new two colour schemes are not impressive for most.
  • Comfort level one of the best while riding CBR250RR for long distance
  • Impressive performance for a 250 cc engine. At high speeds the ride is less scary and the bike feels well planted
  • 0-100 in just less than 9 seconds
  • On an average this bike gives you around 30-32 kmph. If driven consistently at 90 kmph on highway it may be able to provide atleast 35 kmph
  • Experienced riders’ can exploit bike’s light weight and wheelbase to their advantage. It has a brilliant straight line stability
  • Soft suspensions makes it sometimes a bit difficult to enter into a corner with the same speed
  • Rear breaks are horrible in non-ABS model. Those who are not used to apply engine breaks and rely on twin breaks only need to be very careful with this bike.
  • After sale service (A.S.S.) not up to satisfactory level.
