Canon EOS R Mirrorless Digital Camera : The Canon EOS R which sports a 30-megapixel full frame sensor and a brand new RF lens mount has announced its India pricing and availability today. Canon has also launched lenses and mount adapters associated with the Canon EOS R.  This is Canon’s first mirrorless camera.

The camera lacks in-body image stabilization and shoots 4K at 1.7x crop, which may not excite a lot of people, Moreover only a Single SD card slot is provided. But apart from that,  In order to incorporate the sensor into a smaller body, Canon has developed the RF mount with a width of 54mm.

Canon EOS R weighs 660 grams, which is obviously heavy. The prime highlight of EOS R is its massive 5655 selectable autofocus points, which enables in easier tracking of fast moving subjects. It boasts full-frame CMOS sensor with Canon’s famed Dual Pixel auto focus (AF) technology and its DIGIC 8 image processor. The ISO range is amazing as well, ranging from 100-40,000, with 8fps continuous shooting and a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000sec. The camera also supports 4K video recording up to 30fps, 1080p recording up to 60fps, and HD recording up to 120fps. Advanced shooting modes like Canon Log, 4:2:0 8-bit recording and 4:2:2 10-bit video output over HDMI are also supported.

The device is likely to feature a new app called Digital Photo Professional Express for the Apple iPad, which will let users edit CR3 RAW files on their tablet. This will be available in October. Besides, the device also feature a new touch bar right next to the EVF, which allows users to more easily access their customize settings, such as AF, ISO and white balance.

Coming to the design it features a magnesium alloy chassis that enhances body durability while shielding the camera from electromagnetic radiation and heat. A tempered front panel provides the internal rigidity that formerly was provided by poly-carbonate parts (in the Canon 5D Mark IV, for example), providing the EOS R body with solidity and durability.
