Irrfan Khan starring Blackmail Goes Shaky at the Box Office:- The black comedy featuring Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulhari called Blackmail seemed interesting since it was announced by the makers in the media. The buzz for the film remained high before it finally hit the theatres. This made everyone get a feeling that the film would fly high over the box office. However, the film opened on a slow note, only to get better over the first weekend and post-weekend at the box office. The film with a mediocre figure of around 2.81 crores on the day went on to get a 37 percent boost on the second day with the collection reaching to 3.85 crores, while the third day (Sunday) witnessed another boost reaching the collection to around INR 4.56 crores.

With this, the first-weekend box office collection for Blackmail reached to 11.22 crores, which is a decent amount. The film had several hurdles, with Baaghi 2 doing well, most of the screens are occupied, which restricted the film to a limited collection. In fact, the film has a decent rating as well while people catching up the movie were impressed with the roller coaster laughter ride with Irrfan Khan’s perfect comic timing and incredible performance. With some positive elements of the film, the black comedy is expected to create some amount of word of mouth buzz for the film. The people catching up the movie have been applauding Blackmail and went on saying that it would be criminal to miss this movie.

Some of the critics have recommended the moviegoers to catch the film as it is regarded as the must watch a movie. However, the experts also feel that film’s lifetime collection would wrap up by 50 crores since the hurdles would continue to prevent the audience to catch it. Also, the current trends in terms of the box office collection, it is likely to get this much of figure only. Also, the absence of the lead actor (Irrfan Khan) during the film’s promotion as he is away to London for his NeuroEndocrine Tumor also has hampered the buzz for the movie in some ways.
